Business Plan
The company's capital is to be raised by the sale of shares. These shares will be sold at 25 pence each. After selling all of our shares, we hope to have a share capital of £250. With this, we shall begin to manufacture our products.
The Venture
The company's short-term objectives are to sell as much of our stock as possible and, from these sales, to make as much profit as possible. In the long term, we hope to raise the company profiles as the company progresses. Another of our long-term objectives is to go from producing small products and building up to producing a large, major event open to all
In the beginning, the only materials that the company will require are the raw materials required to produce our products. As the company builds up to our major event, we will require fewer raw materials, but will require resources such as a venue, advertising and refreshments. This will require a larger amount of capital. All of our ventures will require a maximum amount of manpower that the company can offer (all staff)
Product/Service
Icon came up with a list of many services and products when we first formed. Following this, we came up with a list of four possible product ideas:
Picture frames
Mobile phone accessories
Paper weights
These products will take the company up to January 2001. When we have built up on the capital we originally had, we hope to stage a major event, such as a local talent contest or concert featuring local bands. This should raise yet more capital before the company is liquidated in April/May 2001.
Marketing Strategy
The place where our products will be sold will be a key points around St. Ninian's High School, in the upper building. These points included the school foyer, cafeteria and outside the sports hall. Our target audience is school pupils at St. Ninian's High School in school years nine, ten and eleven.
Currently, our marketing department is conducting market research. The aim of this is to gather information about our target audience. With this, the company will be able to decide whether we shall sell certain products and how we will design certain products.
The marketing department will distribute questionnaires to tutor groups in years 7 to 9. These forms will be returned to the company through the school registers. With this, the marketing department will present their findings to the rest of the company.
Finance
The company's capital shall be raised by the sale of shares. Once all of these shares are sold, we shall put the cash into the company's bank account. The company shall pay for the raw materials required by the use of cheques. This will also be the method of payment for the registration fee.
At the moment, it is hard to forecast the kind of profit the company hopes to make. However, the company is certain that it would like to at least double the original amount of share capital. This should hopefully be the forecast that are shareholder would like to see.
